Dongshan, the birthplace of the mainstream culture of Guizhou, YangMingci and xianren cave are the places to commemorate Wang Yangming, the great thinker, politician and militarist , and up to now it still remain.But in general, due to the erosion of years, Dongshan culture has been mostly destroyed.The purpose of the reconstruction of leisure square in Dongshan is to restore the cradle of main cultural spirit in Guizhou as a whole.

Dongshan square achieves the interrelated language of Yangmingci through ten scenic spots-----qirurensheng, baodingyingyue,zhuanzi Ping,Knowledge and action should go hand in hand , at the same time, it becomes the narrative main body structure of Dongshan leisure square. It reveals the important essences of Wang Yangming's quintessence of philosophic thinking with three principles, knowledge and action should go hand in hand,the extension of innate knowledge,body, mind, knowledge and substance are all integrated, and can not exist independently, this is a obvious clue; the perplexing time line throughout the whole square, this is a dark lane, which metaphorizes that time flows away like a river. Landscape art works combine traditional Chinese narrative gardening ploy and modern experience space concept.It is a scenic square with a high cultural taste and philosophical background.

Design concept:

The winding and branched labyrinth

The design structure of Dongshan Plaza is like the description of Borges's "the garden of forking paths" , it is also like the choice provided by the branched roads of garden in the Chinese style, every fork in the road gestates a new narrative basis, which shows the association of infinite possibilities and the meaning of growth.So at the same intersection, there are often several directional choices, and every choice means a new opportunity.Thus, making the square much in little and forming a cultural landscape like a labyrinth, the old, natural fragments, and the fragments of thinking are interwoven into a net, and we are constantly wandering and wandering in these fragments, causing us to think about the past and Wang Yangming.

Time design

To some extent, the design of Dongshan square is the design of time. It constructs the narrative structure in the way of remembrance and inserts some memory fragments that touch the heart of the people.

Characteristic of "three cold-weather friends "-- pine , bamboo and plum

The plants of Dongshan square metaphor the humanistic love knot in the idea with bamboo, and form the basic landscape plants;metaphor the modest and high-hearted natural instincts of the literati with plum; show firm and inflexible Chinese thinking mood with bamboo.
